Silver Pocklington Cycling Club medal 1894

SOLD - to a gentleman!

This is a nice heavy silver fob medal manufactured on or before May 1894. Engraved on the front with PCC for Pocklington Cycling Club, this was one of the first cycling clubs in the country. The back is engraved with the words “Presented to Mr F. Jones by the members of the Pocklington Cycling Club as a ?????? of their esteem on his ???????? ????? May 1894”. There are no hallmarks visible on the medal, so either these have worn off or it was never assayed. A fabulous addition to any watch chain, it comes supplied with a jump ring. A real talking point with friends, this would cut a real dash on any waistcoat.
